LOT NO: 32    Starting: THB 250000   Approx: € 6250   1837 May 30: Complete entire with letter printed price list of religious tracts and manuscript letter with a grant of $1,000 from the American Baptist Church to Rev. Stephen Johnson Bangkok showing most interesting routing into Siam during Rama III period, on front oval "zachary/?" cachet in red next to manuscript notation of "33" for fee paid and "FORWARED BY / JENKIN SHUCK/CHINA" in blue, reverse oval "FORWARDE BY H. PARTUDGE/KELLOGG/CANTON" in red and "FORWARDED BY / J. BALESTIER/SINGAPORE" in blue, endorsed by latter "Pr. Rob Roy"(over "Ship Amoy-Hallert"); badly split filing crease affects Ship endorsement and Canton f.a.c. nevertheless a remarkable example of early routing into Siam. The entire nicely exhibited and manuscript details on one original exhibition sheet by the late Charles Stewart.(1) Ex. Charles Stewart - Lot 1002.
